Description | World War II Remembrances is the manuscript of Walter E. Pomper, a U.S. Army veteran and resident of Des Plaines, Illinois. It contains personal recollections, photographs and original cartoons documenting his experience as a soldier attached to the 555th Engineer Heavy Pontoon Battalion. The source material for this digital file was a photocopy of the original manuscript. The original manuscript is held in the archives of the Pritzker Military Library, 104 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60603. |
